House Interior Decorating of LOVEDAY RESIDENCE, NEUTRAL BAY
House Interior Decorating of LOVEDAY RESIDENCE, NEUTRAL BAY by Arena Design architects. Total renovation of a 3 bedroom semi-detached house. The existing interior had not been touched for 10 years and required a serious makeover including re-furnishing.
Area Design
The existing living and dining rooms were interchanged to provide a larger dining room and create an informal lounge area adjacent to the new streamlined kitchen. An uncluttered, simple aesthetic was developed to maximise the feeling of space. The use of pivot-based armchairs with organic forms acts as a foil to the rectilinearity of the space and allows guests’ conversation to swing around between the kitchen & the dining room, which can be seen beyond.
Space Design
The entry vestibule was re-configured with a large pivoting door to act as a feature upon arrival and provide privacy for the guest area along with an en-suite bathroom beyond. The wall unit contains storage for crockery and formal dining ware and features a granite worktop to act as a buffet unit. As the kitchen was to be visible from the lounge, a design was developed which resulted in a series of cabinets concealing items such as microwave & fridge. Colours were tonally similar to the general wall colour also.
Upper Floor
The totality of the upper floor was re-designed as a private space with a bedroom converted to a TV / Study / Lounge, the bathroom stripped out and re-designed and master bedroom re-configured to maximise view, light and wardrobe space.
